Purpose
To act as the provincial sport governing body for the sport of whitewater canoe and kayak paddling and thereby to expand the interest and the development of the sport within the Province of Alberta.

Vision
Whitewater paddling sport will be broadly represented across Alberta through a network of paddling clubs and disciplines that support recreational paddling and slalom, wildwater, freestyle and canoe polo competition.

Objectives

  1. To encourage the development of whitewater paddling clubs within the province as the base from which the sport will evolve and grow.
  2. To develop, support and coordinate the leadership, instruction and coaching development programs that promote skillful and safe whitewater paddling across all disciplines.
  3. To support and promote the growth and performance of high level whitewater sport in all its facets through the discipline bodies of WSAA, AFKA, ACPA.
  4. To maintain and grow the presence of whitewater paddling sports in the Alberta Summer Games.
  5. To promote, develop, support and preserve the provision of facilities and environment for whitewater sport.
