The Venue - Kananaskis River @ Canoe Meadows
  • Crystal clear, dam controlled Rocky Mountain river, with classic eddies and good gradient

Directions to Canoe Meadows:

From Calgary (the east)
Drivers should depart Calgary, heading towards the mountains on the Trans Canada HWY (#1). Exit onto Highway 40 and head south (turn left at the stop), for approximately 7 km. Watch for the Canoe Meadows sign on the west (right) side of the road. The group camping site entrance is at the back end of Canoe Meadows parking lot. Note: If you pass the Visitor’s Centre you have gone too far down Hwy 40.

From Banff / Canmore (the west)
Head east from Canmore, towards Calgary on the Trans Canada HWY (#1), exit onto Highway 40 and head south (turn right at the stop), and follows the instruction above.
