Bow River Access

I know a lot of recreational paddlers wonder what the Provincial Paddling Associations do for you. Last week it was brought to our attention that the City of Calgary was closing Bowness Park for paddling groups. The AWA stepped forward and looked at the issue and sent out a news release with support from Paddle Alberta talking about our concern that public rights of access to the water were being unduly restricted. . Issues like this arise each year and we are happy to be the voice for everyone to get access to the water and to build great paddling opportunities across Alberta. Your membership helps us to have that dialogue with government and industry because it shows the number of people involved in our sport. We would encourage all of you to join a club or start a club in your community or take out an individual membership in the AWA.
