Harvie Passage Update June 26

The opening of Harvie Passage that was planned for tomorrow has been postponed because of delays in finishing the construction. The contractor is anticipating that they will be able to complete the sign installation, plant the last remaining cuttings and trees and remove their equipment over the next 2-3 days. Once this is done they will pull down the fencing to open the pedestrian area to the public. This is the signal that the site is open for paddling. Depending on how all this goes and assuming that the river levels stay below 285 and the High Water Advisory remains in abeyance, the timeframe for a Soft Opening will be Friday or Saturday. Don't quote me on this but they are working towards having Harvie Passage open for this weekend. Thank all of you for being patient and keeping the faith. Have fun. Chuck Lee
