We cancelled the AWA Provincial Whitewater Championships last week because of the foot of snow at Canoe Meadows and the poor weather forecast.
The weather forecast is looking much better throughout this week and into the weekend (plus 20 C on the weekend) We have access to the Canoe Meadows campground for next weekend and hopefully we can get some water released by TransAlta during the day to run our events.
So we are going to reschedule the Provincial Championships at Canoe Meadows on the Kananaskis River for this weekend – September 19-21. As soon as I know the water release plan from TransAlta I will send out the schedule of events. I would love to have all of you come out and camp with us, play some games and hopefully paddle in some of the events. I know this may or may not be possible because of other commitments and personal schedules.
If you are not able to participate and paid a registration fee I will send out refunds for the full amount. Please let me know so that I can begin that process and get your funds back to you.
Hope that you can make it this weekend. Looking forward to camping without the snow and muck.
