2007 Alberta Training Squad (ATS) Camps: |
- A series of slalom camps experienced
coaches for intermediate and advanced paddlers
interested in slalom training and racing.
- Open to Midgets, Cadets, Juniors,
Open and Masters (See Ranking for age group
definitions).
- Participants must be current Alberta
Whitewater Association members.
- Paddlers must be able to train on
gates in a slalom boat* in Class 2 water (i.e.,
Kananaskis River from Miami Beach and paddle back up
from the fish ladder).
- New racers making the transition to
class 2 slalom, who may be swept down or swim, will need
to supply their own buddy boater capable of rescuing
them. Young paddlers who do not have a reliable roll and
are just learning whitewater will also need a personal
rescuer.
