The CKC has a new pricing structure. National and
Development Team members will be paying $50 to CKC in 2008/09.
Please note that all athletes must be a paid member of the Alberta
Whitewater Association. Enrollment in the HP Program will include
membership in ASCK.
HP participants are
responsible for travel costs (ground or air) to/from camps +
accommodation + ground transportation at the camp as needed. ASCK
will always endeavor to keep costs down while meeting the needs of
the group. When extra coaches are needed at camps or competitions
for an appropriate coach/athlete ratio, there may be an extra fee to
athletes to cover the costs of the extra coach. These cost will be
introduced only if necessary.
NOTE: In 2008-2009 CKC
requires athletes participating in National and Development Team
Camps be members in good standing of their provincial programs. i.e.
fees and all trip/camp costs are paid up.
ASCK understands that
athletes’ coaching needs may change depending upon their results at
National Team Trials. To allow athletes flexibility while retaining
program viability, the following policies will apply:
-
opt into the program
at any time by paying for the remaining months in the program
plus a premium of 20% (on the remaining months).
-
opt out of the
program at any time. Receive a refund for the unused months
minus a premium of 20% of the fees for the remaining months of
the program.
Cheques returned as NSF,
will result in notification to the athlete (or family of athlete
under 18). A notice shall be sent to the athlete allowing 10 days
for payment to be rectified. Failure to comply shall result in
suspension from the HP program and notification to CKC based on the
reciprocal agreement.
Volunteer Commitments
In addition to the fees,
each HP athlete is expected to fulfill the following commitments to
be considered an ASCK member in good standing and to be an eligible
participant in programs and events.
-
Each HP participant
or their designate (family member or other) is required to work
two shifts at the ASCK casino. These occur every 18-24 months.
There may be a cost assigned by the Board for participants who
do not fulfill this condition. This cost will be determined by
the Board before the next casino.
-
Each HP athlete will
give 16 “service” hours per year to ASCK. These must be approved
by the Board in advance. Activities may include mentor coaching
in another club, visiting a sponsor, etc.
-
Volunteers are
needed to support the coach at some camps as determined by the
Board. This has always been done on a free will basis with the
volunteer assuming the costs of travel and accommodation. It is
hoped that this system can be sustained and that families will
continue to volunteer on a rotating basis with all families
doing their fair share.
