AWA Provincials 2020

September 11-13

The Alberta Whitewater Association Provincials is being held at Canoe Meadows on the Kananaskis River. The Provincials brings together a broad group of whitewater kayak and canoe enthusiasts and their families:

from novice to international medal winners

competing in  slalom, boatercross/creek race and freestyle at both the novice and advanced levels

paddlers from 8 to 68 years of age.  

The Rocky Canoe Club is hosting the first ever Alberta Masters Games in Rocky Mountain House for paddlers 35 and over. Events will include a Voyageur Canoe Race on Friday, Canoe Polo tournament on Saturday and an Open Canoe race on Sunday. Camping will be at the Rocky Mountain House National Historic Site. 

Valleyfield, Quebec is hosting the 2019 National Whitewater Championships - August 12 - 18. 

For 2019 will include Slalom, Slalom Cross, Downriver and Freestyle all combined in one National Championships !  Come be part of an amazing event with Canada's best athletes in all disciplines!

The Alberta Whitewater Association Provincials is being held from August 30 to September 2 at Canoe Meadows on the Kananaskis River. The Provincials brings together a broad group of whitewater kayak and canoe enthusiasts and their families:

The Annual General Meeting of the Alberta Whitewater Association will be held in the Conservation Room upstairs in the Basspro Shop in NW Calgary (Balzac). The AWA encourages anyone with an interest in whitewater paddling, Alberta's whitewater rivers, Canoe Meadows & the Kananaskis, Harvie Passage, Alberta Summer Games, youth kayaking programs and kayak clubs to attend.

Mileage will be provided to those attending from out of town. Coffee and lunch will be served.

Cottonwood Kayak Club is hosting our annual polo tournament  on Sunday, Jan 14, 2018 from 10:00 am - 7:00 pm at the Innisfail Aquatic Centre.

Brierlies Whitewater Blowout is back for it's second year! After a successful event in 2016 we are planning hard to ensure another smooth and fun weekend for everybody. The goal of the festival is to ensure that everybody has FUN on the water. Although there are some competitions, these are intended to be fun and not stressful, so please jump into whatever events your heart so desires!
