Alberta and BC are hosting a great series of events before and after the National Championships. Begining in Invermere, BC, athletes can challenge the Toby Creek creek-slalom courses, with the chance of winning over $1000 in cash for first place. Then moving on to the Kananaskis River for the National Championships and ICF ranking race, athletes will compete in four disciplines; Downriver, Slalom, Freestyle and Slalom Cross. These events will serve as partial 2019 Team Trials for Slalom and Freestyle. After the Nationals banquet and events, we will do a pop-up race on Harvie Passage in downtown Calgary, giving athletes an opportunity to shine on the newest urban whitewater park in Canada. Finally, athletes will take a road-trip to the west coast to Whistler to race on Rutherford Whitewater Park, hosted by Canoe Kayak BC. On the way to Whistler there is the opportunity to paddle some remarkable rivers or surf at Skookumchuck.
