The Events are a Go!
Following devastating flooding in southern Alberta we have determined that we CAN continue with our hosting of the National Championships for Downriver, Slalom and Freestyle. We had to wait for the waters to recede before we could assess the situation and we apologize for the delay in registration. Many communities and rivers in the area have been forever changed, but that is just life, as we know it, on the water.
The Red Deer River will be largely unchanged for our purposes, while the Kananaskis will be a new river for everyone. The full gate structure at the Kananaskis was destroyed and many features were changed. Plans are in place to have the site up and running before the 25th of July. The Harvie Passage was also damaged and we can no longer host the third race we were planning. In its place we are encouraging all athletes and coaches to stay for two days of Training at the Kananaskis in mixed provincial groups (internationals welcome too)!
Register by July 14 for the Early-Bird Price.

August 1 – Downriver Classic and Sprint
August 2 – Training
August 3 – Slalom – Age Group Nationals (Cadet/Junior/Masters)
August 4 – Slalom – National Championships

August 6 & 7 National Training Camp – All provinces welcome!
