Tough day of racing for Canada on day two in Prague. Jessica Groeneveld of Innisfail was the top K1W but missed out on the semi-final on a tough and technical course. She finished 45th with Froelich of Ottawa and Denhollander of Chilliwack, 47th and 50th respectively.
Representing Canada in the K1 Men and C1 Men semi-finals were Ben Hayward of Edmonton and Cam Smedley of Ottawa. Both missed the top-10 final finishing in 28th and 27th. Hayward comes off a recovery year of shoulder surgery and should be pleased with the progress looking towards the 2016 Olympics.
Watch for more action Saturday and Sunday with the Team runs. The K1M Team of Ford, Hayward and Hastings will be looking to replicate or better their 2010 4th place finish. Jessica Groeneveld will be doubling up in K1 and C1 Team events. In C1 she'll be partnered with Haley Daniels of Calgary and Ally Mcgee of Ottawa. In K1 with Froelich and Denhollander.
