Pre ASG Canoe Kayak Camp

Zone teams are encouraged to attend this pre-competition camp to improve skills and learn more from our coaches. Cost is $150 and includes camping, meals, coaching and transportation for the 3 days. We will be based on the scenic Red Deer River Ranch with some great paddling sites close at hand and canoe polo pitches in Sundre.

This camp will start immediately following the Sundre Paddlefest event on Sunday night, July 20 and will include supper that night and meals for 3 days, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, along with breakfast on Thursday morning, July 24.

Camping will be on the Ranch lawn and meals will be provided at the Barn.

Training sessions during the camp will include Canoe Polo skills and tactical strategies, slalom skills for K1, C1 and C2 and balancing and paddling downriver kayaks on flatwater. We will also be doing some river runs and playboating on the upper Red Deer River for anyone who is ready for it. 

Our team of certified Instructors and Coaches will include your Zone Coaches and other invited Coaches from the different disciplines involved in the Games.

Transportation will be arranged to move all participants to Airdrie for the Check In and Opening Ceremonies on Thursday. . If your child is not participating at the ASG then you can arrange to pick them up at the Red Deer River Ranch at noon on Thursday.
