The Alberta Whitewater Association is excited to welcome the World August 1 & 2, 2026. This event ties in nicely with the World Championships in Oklahoma City July 21-26.
Alberta has a long history of hosting National events, as well as the PanAm Championships in 2009 with Peter Kauzer, Corrine Kuhnle, Daniele Molmenti, and the Oblingers (among others) in attendance.
Travel
- Flights from OKC to YYC are typically under $300cad
- Boat transport will be arranged from OKC to Kananaskis with training available from Tuesday July 28th
Accommodations
- Camping is available on site
- camping equipment rental is an affordable option
- A variety of hotels are available 5-40min away in Mini Thni, Canmore, Banff and Calgary
Venue
- Clear, blue, mountain water
- Natural, modified river similar to Foix/Argentiere/Solkan

REGISTRATION for Canadian Athletes
The Canadian National Whitewater Championships will be held the following week as well for anyone interested in extending their stay. That includes Slalom, Kayak Cross, Freestyle, Wildwater & SUP Slalom.
