2026 PanAm Championships & ICF Ranking Race - Kananaskis, Canada

Kananaskis

The Alberta Whitewater Association is excited to welcome the World August 1 & 2, 2026. This event ties in nicely with the World Championships in Oklahoma City July 21-26.

Alberta has a long history of hosting National events, as well as the PanAm Championships in 2009 with Peter Kauzer, Corrine Kuhnle, Daniele Molmenti, and the Oblingers (among others) in attendance.

Travel

  • Flights from OKC to YYC are typically under $300cad
  • Boat transport will be arranged from OKC to Kananaskis with training available from Tuesday July 28th

Accommodations

  • Camping is available on site
  • A variety of hotels are available 5-40min away in Mini Thni, Canmore, Banff and Calgary

Venue

  • Clear, blue, mountain water
  • Natural, modified river similar to Foix/Argentiere/Solkan

The Canadian National Whitewater Championships will be held the following week as well for anyone interested in extending their stay. That includes Slalom, Kayak Cross, Freestyle, Wildwater & SUP Slalom.
