Provincial Youth Kayak Polo Championships

The Alberta Canoe Polo Association (ACPA) would like to invite you to participate in the inaugural Provincial Youth Kayak Polo Tournament. This event will take place at Repsol Sport Centre (Calgary) starting 09:00 am on December 7th 2019.  This is an all abilities event for youth to encourage learning about the sport, improving skills and in general to have fun.

During the morning, current and former national team players and coaches will be running clinics to help introduce or improve your kayak polo skills (including paddling technique, passing, catching, shooting and tactics). After lunch, players will be organized into teams and a youth tournament will take place.  Depending on the number of participants, an open tournament (which all are welcome) will be organised. This is a great opportunity to practice or begin developing paddling and polo skills for the Alberta Summer Games which are in Lethbridge next year.

Alongside the youth clinics and tournament, we are also offering guidance and instruction for any club coaches or volunteers with an interest in coaching or developing polo in their clubs.

We want to encourage participation from the entire province and are therefore offering travel subsidies for all participants. Should you have to travel more than 200km to attend the event we are also offering an accommodation subsidy of $50 per person, per night (max 2 nights).

Please contact the ACPA via email (secretary@albertacanoepolo.com) to discuss your travel and accommodation needs. Register and pay the $10 registration fee through the Eventbrite page below:
