2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM) & Planning Session

Invitation to the Alberta Whitewater Slalom Annual General Meeting

Dear Members and Supporters of Alberta Whitewater Slalom,

We are excited to invite you to our Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the Alberta Whitewater Slalom (AWS) community. This meeting is an essential event where we come together to review the past year's accomplishments, discuss future plans, and elect new members to our leadership team.

Your participation is crucial to the continued success of our organization.

Here are the details for the AGM:

The meeting will take place in person at the Brentwood Co-op (4122 Brentwood Rd, NW) and by Zoom.

When:  Saturday, November 4^th, 2023

Check-in: 8:30 am (in person)

Meeting Starts: 9:00am sharp – 4:00pm (lunch will be provided)

Agenda:

1. Welcome and Registration
2. Approval of Minutes from the Previous AGM
3. President's Report
4. Head Coach Report
5. Treasurer's Report
6. Election of Board Members
   
   1. President (1yrs)
   2. Vice President (2yrs)
   3. Treasurer (2yrs)
   4. Athlete Rep. (1yr)
   5. 2 Directors at Large (2yrs) 

Interested candidates should express interest to albertaslalom@gmail.com and attend the AGM to participate in the election which will take place after the strategic planning session. A call for nominations will also be made during the meeting.

7. Reviewing our first year’s success and learnings from our organization’s renewed strategic goals, objectives, and strategies that were set in January 2023. This review will allow us as an executive team to fine tune the next 2 years of our 3-year strategic plan. *All members are welcome to participate in the review while the board will be responsible for determining how to execute any objectives that come from the review.
8. Planning and coordinating the 2024 programming and event schedule.
9. Closing Remarks

Please RSVP your attendance by Oct 30^th to ensure we can make appropriate arrangements for seating and refreshments.

If you are unable to attend in person, we will also provide an option for virtual participation. Details on how to join the virtual meeting will be shared closer to the event date.

We encourage you to consider becoming involved in our organization by joining the board or participating in committees. Your input and support are invaluable as we work together to promote and grow the sport of whitewater slalom in Alberta.
