CONSTRUCTION HAS BEEN DELAYED. The campground will not be closed for the season this fall, but more importantly paddling will remain in place for September with no closures to the river access.Â
Alberta Parks will begin renovations to the Canoe Meadows facility immediately after the September long weekend, September 3. Construction is projected to last throughout the fall. The AWA will not be able to host any groups this fall because of this work. Construction will include:
- expansion and paving of the parking lot,
- change rooms and storage racks,
- removal and replacement of the Kitchen Shelter,
- new vault toilets on the westside of the campground,
- individual camping sites in the lower meadow,
- removal of the ATCO storage trailer
- improvements to the escarpment trail
- new trail from parking lot through trees to putin
- leveling the main fieldÂ
These are going to be awesome when completed.Â
