Welcome to Fraser Fest!

The Bow Valley Kayak Club is stoked to be co-hosting Fraser Fest this year with Benny Clark and #theleagueofbeautifulminds. Aside from Benny’s epic paddle party, we are excited to announce the inclusion of our family friendly group-camp at Robson Meadows. Regular festivities will still occur as usual in the campground across the road. You know who to call!

This is the Bow Valley Club’s first crack at an event so we’re taking it super chill. Meals are all on-own and spots are extremely limited, we will be maxing out at 40 this year. Assume river stories shared around the group campfire nightly and some low-key fun so we can be fresh to paddle the next day!

It will be the same big-water fun and adventures with new friends, but we will also be organizing daily group trips and have a number of specialized intermediate clinics run by Jiri Stolarik of Western Kayak Adventures, Robbie, our club coach, and Benny and Bryce for an upper-level advance clinic.

While the club will be bringing some supplemental gear, participants are required to bring their own.

Intermediate and Advanced Full-Day Programming

Looking to work on your intermediate skills and progress your paddling to that next level with style and precision? How about we make the setting on one of our local class 3 runs! Let’s really break down the Boat, Body, Blade, and see how we can better sinc all three components to become smoother, more efficient paddlers. S Turns, cross current momentum, building power on your blade, jet ferries, understanding current changes and transitions are just some of the topics we will be covering.

Pre requisites
Must have some experience paddling class 3 rivers with a river roll in a class 2 environment.

Times/Locations
Plan will be to meet at the group campfire around 9:00 and set up our shuttles for the day. Expect to be done around 4:30.

Other info
Every person must have appropriate personal wear/safety gear including a throw bag, whistle, and a river runner/creek boat with float bags.
